Chicago's Best Bartender

After 20,000 votes, metromix readers have narrowed the competition of best Chicago bartender down to 5 candidates:

» Chad from Bungalow Lounge - Signature drink is the Manhattan
» Tracy from The Apartment - Signature drink is the Screwball Martini
» Ed from Petterino's - Signature drink is the Margarita
» Laurel from Underbar - Signature drink is the Maker's Mark Manhattan
» Titus from Green Dolphin & Slick's Lounge - Signature drink is Stoli Around the World

Chicagoist has never had any of these bartenders serve us but now is our chance.. and yours too. Thursday night metromix and RedEye are having a party at Gracies where all of the contestants will be serving their signature drinks. Sounds like a good chance to taste and get served by the best. Just don't drink so much that you're too hungover for the Chicagoist party on Friday!

After the party, head over to metromix to vote on which of the remaining 5 contestants you think is Chicago's best bartender. You can vote til August 29th and the winner will be announced in the RedEye's September 1 issue.

This whole bartender competition reminds us of the Simpson's episode where Moe enters the Duff Beer bartender competition and wins the chance to appear in the Duff calendar.. except when the calendar comes out his face is covered with a sticker to hide his ugliness. Chicagoist will say this much: If Titus wins metromix's competition there's no way his face is going to be covered with a sticker! wheet-weeuw.
