2 New Chicago Cop Shows

Starsky & Hutch - Photo: TVTomeEdward Allen Bernero, the former Chicago police officer who teamed up with John Wells to produce Third Watch, is getting 7 figures from Fox TV to create 2 new Chicago cop-themed dramas. One will air on FOX and is described as a modern-day Starsky & Hutch and has 2 cops who solve cases together and have different views on upholding the law. The other is described as a police "area headquarters ensemble show" (whatever that means) and will be on CBS.

Unlike other shows that are supposed to take place in Chicago but aren't filmed here.. (cough.. ER.. ahem.. cough.. Chicago Hope.. excuse us!) these two new dramas may actually be filmed here. Bernero told the Sun-Times that while he can't guarantee that either show would definitely be made in Chicago, he is "working hard to make that happen. . . . I'd love to come home to do them both."

Pilots are expected to start filming here in the spring.
