Swim With The Stars

Swim With The StarsMichael Phelps is home from Greece where he tied a record by winning 8 medals, set a world record, and broke 3 Olympic records. And after all that you'd think the guy'd want to take a break, but it turns out: not so much. Phelps, along with his gold-medal winning teammates Lenny Krayzelburg and Ian Crocker are going on tour to promote swimming among American kids.

The swimmers are teaming up with Disney for a 12-city tour called "Disney's Swim with the Stars" that started yesterday at Disney World (Orlando) and ends in October in Disneyland (LA). Each tour stop will include a swimming show to highlight the accomplishments of each swimmer and insight into their races and strokes, demonstrations, rematches from Athens, and a relay with special guests. Also, "local deserving school children" (!?) in each city will get to meet Phelps, Krayzelburg & Crocker. We also read that there will be a (shhhh) surprise appearance by Mickey Mouse.

Unless you're a little kid who's into swimming, this all sounds kind of.. uh.. lame.. um. . but did you see those abs on Phelps!? No, really.. look at them!! We can't look away! The tour takes the guys to Chicago September 13 - 15 and you KNOW Chicagoist is going to be dressed up like distressed schoolgirls that day so we can get an up close look at those abs!
