Did Frances Help Cubs?

The Cubs may have gained an extra little advantage going into the last stretch of the race for the NL wild card. Due to Hurricane Frances, the Cubs-Marlins series this past weekend got washed out. And they'll need any extra help, with 4 teams hotly contesting for the lone wild card spot and the surging Astros taking the lead on Wednesday.
This layoff game the North Siders an unheared of mid-season 4-day break -- a key chance to rest nagging injuries before a final burst? Though how do they explain Sammy Sosa's injury during the days off?!?
Additionally, the Cubs end up picking up an additional home game as a result of Frances. In order to squeeze the three cancelled games into the schedule over the remaining month of the season, Commissioner Bud Selig decided to move one of the games to Wrigley. The Cubs and Marlins will now play two games this Friday at the "Friendly Confines" and then make up the other two games in Miami on Sep. 20, which was to be an off day for both clubs. Guess we'll all have to wait until October 3rd to see the impact the 4 off days followed by 30 games in 27 days has on the Cubs and their playoff hunt.
