Fatigue To Blame in Twista Crash

By Rachelle Bowden in News on Sep 15, 2004 7:02PM

2004_09_15.dixon.jpgAccording to this morning's Red Eye, the cause of the crash that injured Chicago rap artist Twista and caused the death of his friend and bodyguard, Arthur "Butch" Dixon, was driver fatigue. Criminal charges will not be filed against the driver, Twista's cousin Otis Bankhead. The crash occurred during the early morning hours of Labor Day on Interstate 90 just east of the Pennsylvania/Ohio border. No further details about the accident were available though Pennsylvania State Police said that Bankhead will be issued "several driving violations" and specific charges will be detailed later today.

Butch Dixon, son of blues great Willie Dixon, was a skilled pianist who played in bands led by his father and guitar great Chuck Berry. He was laid to rest during services yesterday on the South Side and is survived by his wife and three children.

Learn more about driver fatigue and get totally freaked by a creepy graphic, thanks to the National Saftey Council, based right here in Itasca, Illinois.
