PMR Button; Image: No Media KingsYeehaw, the Perpetual Motion Roadshow is back in town! Tonight, they'll be stopping at Quimby's (1854 West North). It's the last night of roadshow #17, "Born of Secret Transit," which has been on the…well, road for a week, stopping in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, New York, Cleveland and Cincinnati. This leg of the tour features Todd Taylor, Darren O’Donnell, and Chicago's own Jonathan Messinger (of recent RedEye fame).

The PMR is "an indie press tour circuit…a combination of a vaudevillian variety show and a punk rock tour." Each loop of the tour features three artists hitting eight cities in seven days. According to the PMR application form, artist selection is "more about energy then about medium -- writing, music, movies, art, anything smart and dynamic goes," which means we should be in for a treat tonight. Jonathan tells us, and everyone else on the TiG mailing list, that we can expect from Todd and Darren an "alternately hilarious and creepy show," and that he himself will be reading some stuff that has yet to make its internet debut.

The event is pay-what-you-can and BYOB, and the party gets started at 8 p.m.
