Blago Finds Flu Shots From France

That One TowerApparently the French are good for something G-Dubs and all you reactionary France haters. This Chicagoist likes Sartre, baguettes, "Tropic of Cancer", berets (worn by other people), "A Moveable Feast", the words nuance and raison d'etre, and saying "Je ne sais pas". So we took offense two years ago when dipshits poured out French wine and unified the nation by renaming a fried food.
But now the dipshits can't call the French pussies anymore because they have the capacity to help us in another war, the war on influenza.

Last week, due to the U.S. flu shot shortage caused by a tainted batch from Chiron Corp. in Britain, the FDA asked the French company Aventis Pasteur to produce an additional 2.6 million of the shots. However, those shots will probably not be available until January.

Gov. Blagojevich announced today that through his I Save-Rx program his people found 30,000 additional shots from other countries with overstock of the Aventis shots. Blago called on the FDA to "...to work with us immediately to allow us to purchase the flu shots we need. The sooner they give their approval, the sooner we can get flu vaccines to the senior citizens who need them the most." The extra shots will go to seniors at high risk for contracting influenza in nursing homes across the state. Blago said an additional 32,000 to 57,000 vaccinations could be available for Illinois by mid-week.

All this is very interesting because with his I Save-Rx program, Blago said, in effect, that he didn't need the FDA's approval, but now he's suddenly all about it, asking that the FDA inspect the French company's facilities in France and another company's facilities in Germany before Illinois goes ahead with the purchases. His people's inspections for the imported perscription drug plan satisfied him. Why isn't he satisfied with their inspections now? We called the Gov's office, but let's be honest, they won't call us back.
