CTA Workers to Get Pink Slips

ATA's not the only one with money problems .. the latest news in the CTA Saga is that they're threatening to lay off about 1,000 workers if they don't get the money they need by the beginning of the year.
Union bus and train operators account for 90% of the employees targeted for firing. On January 2nd they'll have no job. This is, of course, in addition to the overnight El service and bus routes that are to be reduced and cut.
We'll see if The Union getting involved can get the lawmakers to cough up the funding.
