The Jonathan Quinn era is officially over (for now) in Chicago. On Tuesday, Bears coach Lovie Smith named rookie QB Craig Krenzel as Sunday's starter. Rex Grossman, a grizzled veteran with 6 NFL starts under his belt, will be helping Krenzel prep for the game.

The Bears offense will seemingly rest in young Krenzel's hands, as the team declined to offer Tim Couch a contract. Hisshoulder tendonitis was still of concern, although the Bears expressed possible interest in Couch as a backup next year.

So are the Bears the Worst team in the NFL? They're one of five teams with 1-5 records, along with Miami, Carolina, Buffalo and San Francisco -- this weekend's opponent. This weekend will tell a lot in terms of just how bad they really are. Chicagoist would rather see them be the worst team out there and get the #1 pick in the draft. Mike Williams or Matt Leinart would look nice in a Bears jersey. Seems all too often they're running away with the worst team title only to screw it up by winning a bunch of games at the end of the season!
