Polls Not So Exciting, Results May Be

As promised, this Chicagoist went to or drove by a couple of polling places around the city. But unfortunately for our readers, well actually in the end it is fortunate, we live in a stable democracy. We saw people standing in line, voting and then some smiling as they left. We took some pictures of people standing in line, but you probably already know what that looks like.
Some officials have said turnout so far today is "unheard of" and there were some problems for voters in the 42nd ward, but there weren't any fist-fights and aside from a nasty knee scrape nothing particularly exciting has gone down.
According to CBS exit polls Kerry may be ahead in four battleground states. He's up by 4 in Florida, Michigan and Ohio and almost 6 in Wisconsin. But they are just exit polls so...
We may try to keep you updated throughout the night, but we'd bet you won't come to us for the returns. There are people that get paid to write about that stuff. We'll probably begin cautiously celebrating with libations soon anyway.
