Suspected Capitol Shooter Unfit for Trial

Yesterday, Derek Potts, the guy accused of fatally shooting a security guard at the state Capitol, was found mentally unfit to stand trial. He will be treated at a state mental health center and the treatment could last up to a year.
Potts is charged with first-degree murder, burglary and gun violations in connection with the September death of a security guard, William Wozniak. Potts is said to have driven up to the Capitol building, walked in, shot Wozniak in the chest, then ran back to the car and fled.
Potts has a history of mental illness and will be continually monitored every 3 months. If he is ever found mentally capable to stand trial he will then be brought back to Springfield to do so. The State's Attorney said, "I'm very confident that Mr. Potts will be brought to justice and I look forward to that day."
