Fight AIDS, Get Lit on Chocolate …

Last time Chicagoist went to a chocolate party, we woke up next to a log cabin republican, and his dog knute. We hope we have better luck this year at the AIDS Foundation of Chicago’s must-attend event, The World of Chocolate. Chicago’s finest chocolatiers, restaurants, caterers, and hotels will provide a spread like none seen since Augustus Gloop tanked into Willie Wonka’s cocoa canal. This year we plan to smuggle in a milk chug under our cumber bund, thank the stars we haven’t yet put on our winter weight!
AFC has been working hard for all individuals affected by HIV/AIDS since 1985. They continually strive to be proactive in the fight against the disease, and fund many of the programs so many affected by this plight have come to rely on. They also do a lot of work in the areas of prevention and outreach (even though they are enablers when it comes to our chocolate addiction); we feel a lot safer and sounder knowing they are watching our backs.
The event will also have a holiday bazaar filled with ornaments by the seasonal product purveyor Christopher Radko, and of course, great entertainment and the all important open bar, Frangelico anyone?
The event runs from 5:30 – 9 PM on Thursday, December 2nd at the Fairmont Chicago, general admission tickets are $60 in advance and $75 at the door. Red ribbon tickets are $100, and purchasers get a red ribbon lapel pin to match the bloodshot eyes they will be sporting December 3rd.
Thanks, Michael!
