Rocking Around The...Holiday Tree

By Scott Smith in Arts & Entertainment on Dec 10, 2004 7:39PM

Ay díos mío! There is no El Vez Christmas Show at Abbey Pub this weekend which makes for a very sad Mex-Mas indeed, niños. But do not despair! The gringos of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy are bringing their Wild and Swingin’ Holiday Party to the House of Blues tonight at 9 PM. Chicagoist wonders if it will resemble our own wild and swingin’ holiday party which featured copious amounts of Sam’s “Jingle My Bells Punch.” Margaret was only two cups in before she was putting mistletoe on her ass (“because you should all be kissing my ass anyway!”) and letting people know where they could stuff their stockings.

Anyway, the Holiday Jingle Brawl at Logan Square Auditorium is really more our style. The original Frosty on guitar Especially since we’re looking a little shaggy on top lately and could use a trim. You can get your ‘do done (so long as you don’t want anything more complicated than a buzz) and thrill to the music of Scott Lucas (Local H), Lord Mike's Dirty Calypsonians, and Tight Phantomz for only $10-15 which makes it a way better deal than Supercuts. The event benefits the Windy City Rollers who made the cover of the Chicago Reader this week.

Finally, the Christmukkah spirit reigns again at the Abbey Pub tomorrow with the Hard Rock Holiday Party starting at 10 PM. Rubber, Chett and Dz Nutts will be performing. We know there’s a “roasting on an open fire” joke in there somewhere but damned if we can find it.
