8-8 at Best

The Bears very narrow glimmer of hope for a playoff run all but ended on Sunday, as the Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Bears 22-3. For the Jags, now 7-6, it was their first victory not pulled out in the final minutes. For the Bears, it was one of many losses where the game was over well before it was over.

The only bright spot was the fact that Chad Hutchinson once again played respectably, completing 17 of 33 passes for 212 yards, no touchdowns and one interception. Perhaps the've finally solved their QB problems for the rest of the season? Sorry, Jeff. Looks like you're staying on clipboard duty.

2004_12_sports_bears_week13_urlacher.jpgOf concern, however is that Brian Urlacher once again injured his hamstring. Having already cost him a number of games early in the season, the latest injury will likely cost him at least one game and possibly the rest of the season. An MRI taken Monday should shed more light on the injury. But given his competitive drive, might he be out on the field this Sunday no matter what? Urlacher's got something to prove after The Sporting News called him the most overrated player in the NFL!
