Be Thankful This Holiday Season

By Rachelle Bowden in News on Dec 23, 2004 7:55PM

We don't like to focus on the negative.

So, instead of focusing on the Bears' ineptitude on offense, the Cubs' inability to trade Sammy Sosa, the White Sox losing Magglio Ordonez, the Blackhawks' lost season due to strike ... we're going to focus on the positive. What are we thankful for this Christmas season?

  • We're thankful for the Bulls recent surge. The Bulls have won five straight games! That's right, the Bulls are 2 1/2 2004_12_olinkreutz.jpggames out of a playoff spot. And they won their fifth straight against the World Champion Pistons on Wednesday night.

  • We're thankful that the Bears have one player worthy of being voted to the Pro Bowl team. Bears center Olin Kreutz made the Pro Bowl after a stellar season on the offensive line. Granted no other Bears made the team, and it's a miracle there was one player, but we're focusing on what we're thankful for this holiday season.

  • And, finally, we're thankful for Illinois basketball. The Illini are ranked No. 1 overall in the college basketball polls. They give hope that a championship season will give Chicago something to root for in the coming months.

Thanks, Greg!
