Finally Sandberg's Year?

The Baseball Hall of Fame announces its inductees Tuesday at 12 noon CT. Cubs legend Ryne Sandberg is a virtual lock for the call this year after finishing just short last year. Sandberg received 61 percent of total votes. Sandberg needs 75 percent of total votes for induction.
Another former Cub, Bruce Sutter, received 60 percent of total votes and Andre Dawson had 50 percent of total votes. Former Cubs reliever Lee Smith also garnered 37 percent of votes last year.
All four have a shot at induction this time around, but Sandberg seems the most logical choice. He is the all-time leader in home runs by a second baseman with 277.
Former Red Sox and Yankee Wade Boggs appears to be a sure bet for the Hall of Fame, but Tuesday could be a very happy time in Chicago.
Thanks, Greg
