Late Night CTA Craziness

By Rachelle Bowden in News on Mar 2, 2005 5:28PM

A CTA driver was stabbed in the empty bus he was driving and a car got in an accident and landed on the Red Line tracks. Not your normal,
run of the mill, crying for money, CTA news!

2005_03_busdriverstabbed.jpgFirst off, the CTA driver who was stabbed was also robbed of his wallet by some guy who got on his bus just after midnight last night. Good luck finding the attacker, he's described as fat, in his 30s, and wearing dark clothes. That's like a quarter of this city's population. The driver, who was stabbed in his right biceps, is in good condition at Holy Cross Hospital.

Secondly, a collision between a car and a semi on the Dan Ryan left 6 2005_03_carredline.jpgpeople critically injured and their car on the CTA Red Line tracks. The collision happened at about 10:20 last night. The red sports car that collided with the semi was found on the CTA tracks about 30 ft. north of the 71st St. viaduct.

Red Line service was halted between Garfield Blvd. and the 95th St. stations and wasn't resorted until about midnight last night.
