More Gay Books Than You Have Time to Read

Chicagoist is a major book whore so we got all tingly inside when we learned that the Gerber/Hart Library, the Midwest's largest gay and lesbian library, is holding a "March Madness Book Sale." Founded in 1981, the library holds over 14,000 volumes and 800 periodical titles and is a great resource for Chicagoans who are interested in all things queer.
The library promises that the book sale will be a "bargin-hunter's paradise" with thousands of LGBT books, general interest titles, and even a number of cookbooks. (On a related note: Chicagoist always enjoys recipes from "Ruby Ann's Down Home Trailer Park Cookbook," written by our favorite drag-queen chef.)
The sale runs every day this week until Sunday:
Monday, March 7: 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Wednesday, March 9: 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Thursday, March 10: 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Friday, March 11: noon - 6:00 pm
Saturday, March 12: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Sunday, March 13: noon - 4:00 pm
Gerber/Hart Library is located in Edgewater, off the Granville stop on the Red Line at 1127 West Granvile Avenue.
If brand-spanking new books are more your style, check out Unabridged Books on 3251 N. Broadway in Boystown. A frequent haunt of Chicagoist, Unabridged has a large selection of gay and general interest books.
