2005_03_louderthanabomb.jpgTonight at Metro check out this year's Louder Than a Bomb poetry slam finals. Sponsored by Young Chicago Authors, the poetry slam features Chicago-area students (age 13-19) who compete for a chance to represent Chicago in the National Youth Poetry Contest "Brave New Voices".

Rachel Weiner, the volunteer coordinator of the event, tells Chicagoist that "this year we have teams representing all neighborhoods and ethnicities of Chicago and we're excited about a possible record turn out to see the 8 groups that made it to the finals tonight."

So, go early and get your tickets! They're only $6 for students and $12 for adults. Doors open at 5 and the show starts at 6.
