Help A (Uninsured) Brotha Out!

Some of us here at Chicagoist don't have health insurance so news of Gapers Block Creative Director Nazarin Hamid's unfortunate tumble off his bike Sunday hit us right in the nuts. His bike's wheel caught in a groove on a downtown bridge during a scavenger hunt he mentioned last Friday.

It sounds like he's, relatively, OK and recuperating. But a lost tooth, a broken tooth, a nasty gash, bruising and blood on the brain equal cha-cha-cha-cha-and-cha-ching. So, his fellow Gapers Block-ers-ists-ians are asking for PayPal donations to help with the bill for his hospital stay. They ask that you use PayPal to send money to work AT weightshift DOT net.

Usually we don't leave the apartment for fear of injuring ourselves sans insurance. But Nazarin has inspired us and shown us that we need not fear! 'Tis better to venture out and live and injure thyself! The Internet IS good for something. Apparently a lot of people use PayPal to raise money for hospital bills. But we take things one step at a time. We're going to wait until we see how much you people donate.
