Join the Chicagoist Team!

It's been a while since since our last call for contributors and Chicagoist is getting antsy to ramp up staff and improve the site even more. Areas that we really want to concentrate on are Interviews, Food and Drink, and Arts and Entertainment. Specific positions are listed below. If you're interested in any of them, meet the qualifications, and would like to join the Chicagoist team, email chicagoistapply(at)gmail(dot)com with the position in the subject line. In the email let us know a bit about yourself and why you'd like to join us.
Interviews
It's been Chicagoist's intention since our inception almost a year ago to have local interviews on a regular basis, but we haven't had the resources to do it. We'd like to add 1-2 people who would post at least weekly interviews with local polictical figures, business owners, artists, or pretty much anyone who lives in Chicago, loves the city and has something interesting to say. Contributors will need to research interviewees, conduct in-person or phone interviews, edit the interview, and write posts.
Food and Drink
Chicagoist would like to add 2 contributors to our Food and Drink team. The first is someone whose love of food is devoted to the independent, affordable neighborhood restaurant and bar. Ideally, this person will contribute two entries per week with one being a review of a restaurant or bar.
The other person we'd like to add is a cooking aficionado to school our readers on the latest and greatest in cooking and independent grocers. This person will contribute at least two posts a week, with one of those posts devoted to the preparation of one recipe. A digital camera will be necessary!
Arts and Entertainment
We’re looking to amp up our A&E coverage with the addition of a few contributors.
First, we want one or two Nightlife contributors. If you frequent the bar or club scene and think you’ve got the inside info on the scene as well as the best places to drink, dance and meet people OR if you see a lot of live music and are dying to write reviews or event listings about must-see shows then we want you. You must have your own digital camera and be willing to take pictures while you’re out to go with your 1-2 posts a week.
Also, we need a Culture writer. This person would cover the goings on in theater, opera, dance and classical music as well as exhibits at local museums. If you’ve got, you know, culture and stuff then perhaps you’d like to write two posts a week for us?
Lastly, we need someone who knows how to read to cover Books and Literature. When a big, famous author comes to town or a great new book about Chicago (or written by a Chicagoan) gets released, our readers need to know. If you can knock out one post a week about readin’ then let us know.
