Heartbreaker!

2005_05_sports_bulls_playoffs_game5.jpgChicagoist can't take this anymore! This toying with our emotions is just too much.

The Bulls came THIS CLOSE to winning tonight's Game 5 against the Wizards after falling behind by more then 20 once again. A furious run in the closing minute, and the Bulls came from 10 down in the final 41 seconds to tie the game at 110! Ten points. Forty-one seconds! Really only 36 seconds because with 5.2 seconds left, Washington got the ball back. And that's Gilbert Arenas single handedly deflated all Bulls fans' hopes by hitting a jump shot at the buzzer for the win. Final score Washington 112 - Chicago 110. Now Chicagoans know what Cleveland felt like in '89.

At least Arenas' shot didn't close out the series like Jordan's did -- but it sure felt that way. It's starting to look like the end of the Bulls' incredible run this season. Game 6 is in Washington on Friday, and the Wiz can move on to the second round with a victory. If the Bulls can somehow find a way to win that game, at least they'll host game 7 back at the UC.
