Go Fly a Kite.. With the Mayor

By Rachelle Bowden in News on May 12, 2005 11:27AM

2004_05_kites_kids.jpgOn Saturday the Chicago skies will be filled with kites as Mayor Daley hosts the 7th Annual Kids & Kites Festival. The event takes place at Montrose Harbor and you can bring your own kite or there will be kite kits available so you can create and decorate your own kite. If you're like Chicagoist, whose kite always just nosedives into the ground and gets messed up, you'll want to take advantage of the kite-flying professionals and instructors who will be there to give you tips on how to fly a kite. There will also be strolling entertainment and crafts.

If you can't make it out on Saturday, the event will be happening in the fall at the Museum of Science & Industry. Or if you go and have a great time on Saturday, mark October 1 on your calendar to do it again!
