Sox Host Orioles in Key Series

Who would have thought when the season started, that this weekend's 4-game set between the White Sox and the Baltimore Orioles would be such a key series? And the early storyline -- Sosa's return to Chicago -- ended up not happening as Sosa landed himself on the DL this week.
Jon Garland attempts to become the first 7-game winner in the AL tonight, facing off against Bruce Chen. They'll play tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday, too.
With both teams entering the series in first place and with the two best records in baseball, the series will help sort out which team is truly tops in the American League. The Sox enter the series as the best pitching team in the AL, while the O's lead the AL in batting avg. and home runs. Some in the media have foolishly questioned the Sox's fast start due to their playing some of the weaker teams in the league. But they've beat up on their AL Central rivals, including 4 of 5 from the Twins thus far.
A split or win in this series will start to really make the national media start to pay attention to the South Siders.
