Brown Line Work Delayed; Dates Emerge

Scooping the Trib, the Sun Times reports today that the CTA planned on beginning Brown Line construction this month, but because of delays in procuring property adjacent to the stations, will not begin work until September.
Chicagoist has dealings with CTA now and then, and knows it recently restructured its real estate department. In recent months a number of staff have been moved out, and at least one department general manager has been changed. While it's hard to say if the staff shuffles are the cause of purchasing delays, they probably don't help.
