Weekly Animal Death Report: It's Monkeys This Time

Lincoln Park Zoo, we're sooo onto you. We understand that you deeply desire your very own weekly feature on Chicagoist, but listen... systematically killing your animals is not the way to go about it.
Since we apparently got this message to you too late, here's the latest: three small monkeys known as Francois' langurs died at the zoo over the past three days, for unknown reasons. Tests are underway to figure out exactly what caused the furry little fellas to pass on, but results are not expected to be available for several weeks.
In the meantime, embattled zoo President and CEO Kevin Bell officially offered his resignation to the zoo's board of directors in the wake of these monkey deaths, as well as those of Peaches and Wankie and Mumbali and Kumba. The board refused to accept it, however, insisting that he stay at least until a complete audit of animal care practices by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association is complete.
Chicagoist has no more emotion about these animal deaths. Good day.
