Shop N’ Eat

It is tucked away, but once you find it you will know where to go when you need a break from shopping or a quick lunch if you work in the area. Café Nordstrom is hidden on the Fourth Floor of the Shopping Center between Kids and Juniors.

2005_05_nordstrom_cafe.gifYou may have to wait in line for a few minutes, but the attentive staff and quality food will make it well worth it. The cafeteria style set-up offers salads, sandwiches, soups, pizzas, pastas, paninis and of course save room for dessert. The menu changes according to the season, always providing the freshest ingredients.

Chicagoist knows it is hard to find a substantial satisfying salad and this is where you will find it. We loved the seasonal Strawberry Chicken salad that combines the unusual combination of mixed greens, strawberries, tender chicken, goat cheese, rhubarb, candied walnuts and a sweet, but not too heavy dressing. Other salads include Salmon Caesar Salad, Pear & Blue Cheese and Chinese Chicken Salad.

If you are in the mood for something hot try the Barbeque Chicken Pizza or Turkey Club Panini with crisp bacon, fresh tomatoes and melted white cheddar. Nordstrom Café is also kid friendly with options they’ll love from Mac N’ Cheese to Hot Dogs. Beer, wine, coffee, teas and soft drinks are available. Breakfast is also served daily until noon.

Once you’ve got your food head to the comfortable seating area where the staff will be happy to provide drink refills or anything else you need. The cherry wood panels enhance the haven for relaxing, catching up with friends or even a business meeting. After such a substantial meal, Chicagoist knows you will be ready with gusto to return to shopping or work. Just don’t buy too much!

Nordstrom Café is located on the 4th Floor of Nordstrom at 55 E. Grand Ave. Call 312.464.1515 for more information.
