Big Hurt Again

With the White Sox offense lagging recently, the team got a surprise boost when Frank Thomas was activated on Monday from the DL.
Following an 11-game minor league rehab stint, the Big Hurt re-joined the team nearly a year after injuring his foot. Thomas received a standing ovation from the sellout crowd when he made his first plate appearance in the first innning.
However, after going 0 for 2 with a walk, Thomas was replaced in the seventh inning because of a strained hip flexor. So it looks like the big Hurt will be out of the lineup again for a couple days. And Chicagoist had always thought they nickname was because of what he did to the baseball, not himself...
Chicagoist is excited to see Big Frank back in the lineup. While he may not put up the big number he did in the past, if he's anywhere close he'll help the offense tremendously. We predict him hitting around .300 with 15-20 homers while driving in 65-75 runs. If he can do that, the Sox will be in pretty good shape offenseively.
