The Way They Make You Feel: Trib Ranks Best Burgers

The problem with "Best Of" lists, especially when it comes to food, is that trying to convince people of why is like teaching a pig to dance: it only annoys you and pisses off the pig.
So Chicagoist imagines that such is the case for this latest list, the Chicago Tribune's "Chicago's Best Burgers" list. Already we're set to go to the mat to defend our favorite burgers from the ones the Trib selected as The Best:
1) Rosebud Steakhouse's hamburger
2) Naha's Angus beef burger
3) Park Grill's Park Grill burger
4) Select Cut Steakhouse's Half-Pound burger
5) Paradise Pup's Char Burger
The Trib's main criteria were "flavor and texture," which is all fine and good but Chicagoist is not going to Naha for a burger; we don't care if it is that good. But, we suppose they weren't ranking the burger joints themselves but rather the quality of the food. We just think that more goes into selecting a great burger. What about topping options? What about size? What about whether or not Chicagoist can buy one of them for $1 like we can at O'Donovan's on a Monday night?
Predictably, people are weighing in over the Trib's forum-esque page on what their favorite burgers are, and there are some interesting choices. Chicagoist cannot believe that someone over there named the burger at The Village Tap their favorite in town. The Village Tap is wonderful for many things; Chicagoist met her spouse there for example. But it's no Moody's or Hackney's.
So go on. Tell us. Where can we find your favorite burger. You know you want to tell us.
