Unknown Loop Streets

Devyn, aka "The Looper," has spent the last few months documenting unknown streets in the Loop and Chicagoist has been a fan since the first post on N. McChesney Court back in March. There's just something so interesting in finding and photographing these hidden gems... and while they might be unknown it's not like they're a you can't find them... the thing is, they're the streets you and I rush past every single day but just don't see. Lucky for us, Devyn has gone in and taken photographs of them and identified their locations.
The streets themselves are mostly named "Place" and "Court" and range from charming to dirty to desolate. Take a look at all of the unknown streets on Devyn's site (links in the right-hand bar) and check back every week for more unknown streets. So far he's documented 9 streets and Devyn says he'll continue the series as a weekly feature on his site every Wednesday for the next few months, or until the unknowns run out. Here's a suggestion, wouldn't it be cool if we had a Google Map screenshot with all of the streets identified on it? Or even better, if Devyn lead an Unknown Loop Streets Walking Tour once the project is complete. Whattaya say, Looper!?!
While you're at the site, check out Devyn's other photography of Loop architecture. Chicagoist especially enjoyed a recent post of views from one of the Marina City towers. While we've taken and seen tons of photographs of the towers, it's not often we see photos from the towers. It's a great reverse perspective.
