Take the Ted Line

2005_06_sports_ted_map.jpgIn case you were wondering how United got into bankruptcy, maybe offering free flights like this one are the reason. United is offering tickets on flight 9895, which will fly from O'Hare to Midway on Sunday, June 26th for the Cubs-Sox game.

Tickets on the flight aren't for sale, however. This Sunday morning, United will include two winning tickets in the wrappers of some copies of the Trib and another local newspaper. Grab you paper early and if yours isn't a winner, check your neighbors' before they get up!

In addition to the Sunday papers, WXRT will be giving away some tickets to listeners and United passengers who fly more than 100,000 miles a year with the airline may get some tickets. Joining them on the flight will be some former Cubs and Sox players. The Airbus A320 to be used can seat 156 passengers, but United says they don't plan to fill the plan entirely for the comfort of contest winners.

Flight 9895 will depart from O'Hare at 9:45am, circle the city long enough to serve drinks and then land at Midway at 11:15am. Passengers will then be bused to U.S. Cellular Field for the game. If only the flight's on time...
