Me and You And Everyone We Know Giveaway

By Scott Smith in Arts & Entertainment on Jun 17, 2005 2:19PM

Chicagoist enjoys giving stuff away. You, the reader, get free movies or a Swatch out of the deal and we get a Santa Claus-like ego boost. That’s what the sales guys call a win-win situation.

2005_06_17_meandyou.jpgToday’s giveaway is courtesy of the fine folks at IFC, the Independent Film Channel, and the makers of the film Me and You and Everyone We Know. If you have even the slightest interest in indie film then it’s likely you’ve heard about this complex, comedic exploration of romance and the tangles that come along with it. Roger Ebert called this film by performance artist Miranda July “the best film I’ve seen this year at Sundance” and featured it in his Overlooked Film Festival (though it was probably overlooked since it hadn’t yet found distribution). July’s film hits the Landmark on June 24th and challenges the notion that only drudgery, not excitement, is found in the everyday.

The winner of this contest will receive the following: a pass for two to see the film during its first week of release (June 28th through July 7th) a three-DVD package of IFC movies including Y Tu Mama Tambien, Touching The Void, and Casa De Los Babys, an IFC t-shirt, and a copy of the Me and You soundtrack.

The bigness of this prize package has made IFC our new favorite movie company ever. Other distributors are welcome to take a shot at the title by sending us DVD copies of their entire film catalog or Kate Beckinsale’s cell phone number.

Sign up for your chance to win after the jump! The contest runs through June 21st. The winner will be notified via e-mail.
