Onward and Upward

You can't keep those Londoners down.
Within 24 hours, our friends in London are back at work, the Tube is back up with the exception of a few locations and buses are running. As of this posting, 50 are dead with nearly 700 wounded in the worst attacks on Britain since World War II. Al Qaeda is claiming responsibility, but police are still investigating. Our friends at Londonist continue to follow the story and finding some humor amid it all. We love those Brits.
Here in Chicago, commuters can expect to see bomb-sniffing dogs and bulked-up security as the nation's mass transit terror alert was raised in the wake of yesterday's attacks in London. According to police, the increased security presence will remain while said terror alert sits at orange.
If you're looking to reach out, a condolence book is set up today in the lobby of the South Tower of the Wrigley Building at 400 N. Michigan Ave., home to the British Consulate in Chicago.
For more news on the events as they unfold, Chicagoist is keeping our eyes on Londonist, BBC News and the Trib.
