INXS Needs U Tonite

Has anyone been watching Rock Star: INXS? Has anyone noticed that Martin Casey, frontman for the Chicago group Lovehammers, is a contestant? Does anyone else besides Chicagoist find this absolutely hilarious? Maybe it’s because we’ve been known to joke about Lovehammers as the Chicago band most likely to go on a tour titled “The Nineties Never Happened” and the fact that Marty is trying out for a slot fronting INXS is just too rich for our blood. Not as rich as the creamy base commentator and shark-jumping rocker Dave Navarro, but pretty damn rich.

Also on the show is a young Chicagoan named Jessica, but aside from the fact she used to waitress at the bar that Chicagoist spins at weekly we couldn’t dig up too much on her. It is alarming, though, that her show bio states she is in a group that was “voted "Best Dance Band in Chicago" by Suburban Nightlife magazine” and we have no idea what band that is. Chicagoist really enjoys dancing so we’re dying to know where she’s playing next. If anyone can help us out with this information we will totally slow-dance with you when Jessica sings "Total Eclipse Of The Heart."

The real star of the show, though, is INXS guitarist Tim Farriss’s hair. I mean just look at it over there. That’s awesome!
