He was on a Break

Ronnie Woo Woo - Photo: http://www.ronniewoowoo.com/Cubs fans can rest easy once again now that Ronnie "Woo Woo" Wickers has been found, alive and ... well alive and himself. Chicagoist questions whether he's ever been well. "I've been around, trying to catch up with Dusty Baker and talk to him about pitching and why we're 14 games back," Wickers said. "I was just on an All-Star break, like the players. I've just been spreading love."

The Chicago media had issues a Code Woo when Wicker's "wife" reported to the police that he'd been missing June 29th. People noted that he hadn't been seen around Wrigley during Cubs games, either.

But for somebody who was "missing" he sure seemed to be everywhere. Reports of him being seen included at the Evanston July 4th Parade, at a Loop Jewel, and he even made two appearances at U.S. Cellular Field -- on July 6th and 10th. Guess even the world's biggest Cubs fan needs to see some real baseball from time to time. Which is exactly what he so much as admitted to, claiming he "thought maybe I could give Dusty Baker some pointers about these hitters."

Ronnie Woo Woo even appeared on-air during WLS's "Roe Conn Show." When the show's discussion turned to the missing Wickers, the sports bar employs Wickers to clean its windows called the show and got him on the air proclaiming, "I'm alive, woo, I'm alive, woo."

So now that that's settled, the Chicago media can return to covering illegal goings-on within the city goverment and cell phone bans and the CTA budget crisis. But only now that we know a homeless guy with an annoying habit has been located.
