Jenny on the State Street Block

Jennifer Lopez has chosen to open her first J-Lo boutique at the Marshall Field's store on State. Fields already carries a lot of her merchandise - perfume, accessories, clothes - but this new store-within-a-store will bring all of the J-Lo brand together in one place. The boutique will open on September 22. Jen will make an appearance and will also attend a fashion show of her clothing line then.
Chicagoist is happy to hear this news, not because we like to buy overpriced clothing, perfume and accessories from multi-tasking millionaire superstars, but because having all the J-Lo products in one area will make them easier to avoid! Seriously, it seems like Lopez's target market is teenagers or girls in their early 20s.. but we're nearing 30 here at Chicagoist and we can't really afford the $80 jeans and $50 camis she's hawking, let alone try to do it on an allowance or college/entry-level job. What gives?
