Cabbie Shot in LP

Early this morning in Lincoln Park, right by the DePaul campus, a cab driver was shot 3 times, once in the head & twice in the body.

A man who lived near the scene said he heard the shots, told his wife to call the cops, and ran downstairs with pepper spray (pepper spray being a great defense against bullets). As he ran down the stairs he heard a few more shots, when he gets down there he sees a cab crashed into some cars, but with no driver. Other witnesses reported seeing at least 2 men run from the scene.

The wounded driver was actually picked up by another cab and taken to a hospital nearby, where he's now listed in serious condition. Police are questioning one person and still searching for more suspects.

It's not known if the shooters were trying to rob him, or were in a fight with the driver or didn't want to pay their fare, or what.
