Daley may be in hot water at City Hall but at least our kids are still benefitting from the improvements he's made in their education over the years. Daley announced that CPS students reached a new high in reading scores on grade school and high school standardized tests last semester.
Officials say that 83% of high school students improved in reading and about 55% of elementary schools improved. Overall, 59% of CPS schools improved in reading.
Daley, not shy about taking credit where it's due, said the improvements were the result of 10 years of hard work since his office took over responsibilities for the city's schools.
Now, if we could only get the math and science scores up. They actually have gone down from where they were. .. but you can't be good at everything, right?
