Robert Novak Is A Big White-Haired Baby

By Sam Bakken in News on Aug 5, 2005 8:51PM

8_2005_novak.jpgYesterday conservative Sun-Times columnist Robert Novak swore and stormed off the set of CNN's "Inside Politics" during a discussion with political consultant and CNN contributor James Carville about Rep. Katherine Harris (R-FL), looking downright hot in the B-roll by the way, possibly running for Senate. You can watch video of the incident here.

8_2005_baby.jpgNovak says, "She might get elected." Then starts the stutter-fest. Carville interrupts (now James, interrupting isn't cool even when a democrat does it) with, "Ah, ah, ah, ah," to which Novak replies, "So way-uh, lemmy, lemmy, way-uh, lemmy, just let me finish what I'm going to say, James, please. I know you hate to hear me." Carville ribs Novak saying, "He's gotta show these right-wingers that he's got backbone, you know. The Wall Street Journal editorial page is watching you. Show 'em you're tough." Then right before our eyes Novak morphs into a baby, spits up all over his bib, wails and crawls off the set—well, sort of. He actually responds "Well, I think that's bullshit, and I hate that. Just let it go," and walks off stage. Republicans are soooo uptight.

CNN announced that Novak was suspended indefinitely from their network (that'll teach 'im) because of his outburst and that Novak had apologized to them. Slate says Novak may have been running away from questions about whether or not he really did get Valerie Plame's name out of the book "Who's Who in America" where he's said it could be found. They were to discuss the leak in the next segment.
