700 Sundays, 1 Marvelous Headache

Chicagoist learned this week that Billy Crystal’s mega-hit Broadway show 700 Sundays is slated for a brief run (Nov. 8-20) at the Loop’s Cadillac Palace Theatre.

Crystal shocked.jpg700 Sundays, the actor’s tribute to his parents and his Manhattan childhood, reminds audiences that no matter how much fame, adulation and riches he has, Billy’s still an ordinary guy from modest means and a loving family. Which in turn brings him more fame, adulation, and riches. Indeed, the show’s six-month run grossed over $1 million a week, with top tickets priced over $250.

For now, Broadway in Chicago knows as much as you do about ticket prices since they and Mr. Crystal’s people still need to finalize the details.

So to recap, group tickets for 700 Sundays are on sale… for an undisclosed sum. Tickets go on sale Friday to Broadway in Chicago subscribers, but we still can’t tell you for how much. Any remaining tickets will be sold to the public, but we can’t be sure if any will be left, how much those will cost, and if you even have a chance in hell of scoring them.
