Of all the health risks one can think of involving eating at Lawry's Prime Rib- high blood pressure; the risk of heart troubles from eating all that succulent red meat; the very remote, but still realistic, possibility that some zealot from PETA could hand you propoganda equating slaughterhouses with lynching or the Holocaust- carbon monoxide poisoning is the last thing to cross ones' mind.

Yet for the second time in as many days employees and diners had to be evacuated from Lawry's for hazardous carbon monoxide levels. Monday night 50 staff and diners were evacuated when hazardous CO levels were deteced. Last night 20 employees were treated and released after being exposed yet again to carbon monoxide. Fire Department officials are investigating the cause of last night's incident, but Monday's incident is believed to have caused by a faulty dishwasher.

Until Lawry's gets that dishwasher fixed and you have a craving for a steak, dine al fresco, okay?

8/18/2K5 Update: Late Wednesday the city ordered Lawry's to close its doors until the source of the carbon monoxide leak is positively identified and fixed. You should still enjoy the weather and dine al fresco.
