Chicago Air & Water Show

Do not be alarmed. That loud-ass noise you're hearing.. it's just the annual Air and Water show.
The water portion of the show is held along the lakefront between Oak Street Beach and the Fullerton Parkway from 9am to 11am this Saturday and Sunday. Then the air show follows each day from 11am to 4pm.
The Air and Water Show is Chicago's most popular event of the summer and is expected to draw more than 2 million people. Headlining the show are the US Air Force Thunderbirds. We also think that the Liquid X water show with wave runners and jet ski acrobatics looks pretty cool. If you can't make it out, but want to catch the action, tune in to WBBM Newsradio 780 for a live play-by-play.
How's this affect you, even if you're not interested in boats and planes? Odds are you'll probably hear the planes flying by, if you haven't already. Here at Chicagoist HQ we've been hearing them all week. Also, traffic will be heavy and some parts of LSD will be closed. . but the CTA is increasing their service this weekend.
