Tickets are now available for Recipe For Relief, the Jimmy Banos-led culinary benefit for the survivors of Hurricane Katrina.

On Oct. 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Grand Ballroom at McCormick Place South, 2301 S. Martin Luther King Dr., the event includes music, a silent auction and cookbook signing with Rick Bayless.

205_09_recipe_for_relief.gifTo be clear, Chicagoist is heartbroken than such an event is necessary but we have to tell you that as foodies it is the most exciting gathering of culinary talent from Chicago that we've ever seen. We aren't missing this for the world.

Some of the chefs secured for the event include Grant Achatz, Paul Kahan, Koren Grieveson, Jean Joho, Charlie Trotter, Mindy Segal, Michael Kornick, Shawn McClain, Paul Virant and the list goes on. It's frickin' huge with more than 80 chefs representing.

People, if there is any restaurant worth eating at in town, you can be sure that its chef is going to be cooking at this benefit. This is food porn at its finest, a who's who of Chicago's chefs and 100% of the proceeds are going to America's Second Harvest—The Nation's Food Bank Network and The New Orleans Hospitality Workers Disaster Relief Fund.

Tickets are $50, which is nothing when you consider how much it costs to eat at any of these places. Call the Illinois Restaurant Association for information at 312-422-0173.
