Trapped in the Courtroom

By Matt Wood in Arts & Entertainment on Sep 27, 2005 3:57PM

R. KellyR. Kelly's wife agreed to let a court drop the order of protection she had secured against him earlier this month. She says she has had enough of court wranglings and wants to try to work out their marriage. The order had given Andrea Kelly custody of their three children, possession of their 2003 Mercedes, and called for "no contact at all by any means" between her and the R&B crooner. Andrea sought the order after the R snapped on August 24 over seeing a picture of her with another man in Miami.

While court transcripts weren't immediately available, Chicagoist believes it went something like this:

She said, last summer I was slapped
We made up but I asked for divorce
He pinned me down and hit me again
I knew then we was goin' to court
He said, "Bitch don't you leave me"
He said, "You made me do it"
He said, "It ain't like I did it for no reason"
"My girl's gettin' around at the Four Seasons."

She went away and she took the kids
Packed her clothes and she drove the Benz
He stayed behind in the empty house
Thought how he shoulda knocked her out
Month later now he's getting lonely
Ain't the same just hanging with the homies
Called her up and said, "Baby I miss you"
He said, "I won't hit you I just wanna kiss you."

She said, "Robert, I know that you mean well"
She said, "That dude was just a friend and I promise I was gonna tell"
He said, "Baby."
She said, "What?"
He said, "Bayyybee"
He said, "Let's drop this shit and do it for the kid's sake"
She said, "Robert, I can't stand this life without you"
"Let get together just because I love you, love you, love you."
