An In-Store To Die For

By Tankboy in Arts & Entertainment on Oct 6, 2005 4:36PM

2005_10_qotsa.jpgWe always enjoy an in-store performance by a band. We’re always impressed by an in-store performance by a band in a store other than a record store. We’re actively salivating at the announcement of an in-store performance by Queens Of The Stone Age at the soon-to-be-vacated Belmont Army Surplus store tonight.

You can’t literally buy a ticket to the event though. In order to attend you need to get thyself to a Tower Records location and buy a copy of the band’s latest disc Lullabies To Paralyze. With that purchase the clerk will also issue a lovely little wristband that you will need to gain entry to tonight’s super-exclusive show.

This promises to not be some namby-pamby three or four song appearance either. This should be a full-blown concert and probably the best chance ever to see these guys in such a small space. We’ll be there covering the whole event and, provided we don’t overdose on Nicotine, Valium, Vicodin, Marijuana, Ecstasy and Alcohol -- oh yeah, and c-c-c-c-c-cocaine -- we should have a lovely write-up tomorrow for all our faithful readers who didn’t get in.

P.S. You didn't hear it from us, but lead Queen Josh Homme's other band Eagles Of Death Metal will be perfomring at Liar's Club tonight for the bar's 10 Year Anniversary Party. It's well kown that Homme loves the Liar's Club so expect it to be on.
