Pay to P.L.A.Y.

Chicagoist loves contributing to a good cause because it makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. That’s a given. However if our contribution might also net us something unique and fun we’re totally okay with that too.

2005_10_flower15.jpgLocal booking powerhouse Flower is celebrating their 15th anniversary with a slew of concerts featuring heavy hitters like Tortoise, Ted Leo + Pharmacists, Local H and Jimmy Eat World as well as reconvened “legends” like The Promise Ring and The Smoking Popes. All of the proceeds from these concerts will go to benefit P.L.A.Y. and we think that’s swell.

What’s even cooler though is the on-line auction that kicked off last night featuring one-of-a-kind prizes offered by many of the groups performing at the shows. Do you want to dictate Local H’s set-list for their concert? Do you want to go bowling with Jimmy Eat World? How about recording with Ted Leo for a day? Got a song you’re just dying to have remixed by Radio 4? We know you want all of these things and indie boys and girls across the nation are wetting their pants and camping out in front of their computers to stay on top of the bidding for these and the many other excellent items Flower has rounded up so you don’t have a moment to waste!
