Coming-of-Age Flesh Flicks Featuring Parker Posey Come to Chicago

film_summerstorm.jpgYou need three elements to throw a successful gay and lesbian film festival: shirtless dudes and sexy chicks, a coming-of-age story, and Parker Posey. The 24th Annual Reeling Film Festival, which opens tonight and runs through November 12th, certainly has all three.

The second-oldest gay and lesbian film festival in the world features film after film of hot flesh. Take Open Cam, for example. Recently dumped Manny takes to the internet to find his sexual escapades, but after he finds his hookups all dead, he turns to a hot gay cop for help. Porno? Thriller? Indy art film? Does it matter?

The festival opens tonight with Summer Storm (photo right), "a sexy, evocative coming-of-age story that defies the stereotypes of the genre to deliver a fresh and gratifying vision of young gay athletes in love." These Reeling people know how to market! Promise "young gay athletes" and tickets are certain to fly out of the box office.

And then there's our favorite fruit fly Parker Posey. She stars as gal pal to Adam and Steve, two lovers who reconnect 15 years after a "disastrous one-night stand." Sure to be hilarious.

Other flicks on our must-see list: Say Uncle, the directorial debut of Peter Paige; Women in Love, "a portrayal of queers who refuse to live life as defined by the mainstream"; and The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green, starring Daniel Letterle, the total hottie from Camp.

Reeling has something for everyone -- gay, lesbian, straight, or transgendered. Tickets are available at the theater or on-line.
