Marshall Field's Holiday Windows Unveiled

By Rachelle Bowden in Miscellaneous on Nov 14, 2005 4:00PM

2005_11_holiday_window.jpgChicagoist went by Marshall Field's to check out the holiday windows that were unveiled this weekend. We'd heard the theme this year was going to be Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and were disappointed when we got to the first window to see that it was the tired story of Cinderella. We guess.. it's a classic, but it would have been refreshing to see Charlie in the windows. Also, it took us a bit to figure out which was Cinderella and which were the ugly stepsisters. .. because Cinderella, this year she sure ain't much to look at.

Still, it's always fun to go from window to window and see the story played out. The artistry and work that goes into the windows each year is always amazing to see. And at least we didn't get the Snow White drag queens of last year. Remember, this is the last year of the Marshall Field's holiday windows, for next year at this time the store will be known as Macy's.
