Pooches For Pericles

2005_12_glin.jpgThe Goodman Theatre is looking for "small, well-behaved" dogs for its upcoming production of Pericles, slated to run Jan. 3 through Feb. 12 of next year. If you've got a pup that fits the bill, the people at Goodman would like you get in touch with them. According to Goodman, an actor must be able to carry the dog in one scene and be led on a leash for another.

Personally, Chicagoist is a tad miffed by the whole slighting of the larger dog variety. We are big dog people. And while we know that with any role the physical is as important an element as any, we believe big, bounding, floppy puppies -- such as the adorable, perfect creature pictured here -- would bring in the crowds on their cuteness alone, and therefore the size requirement should be lifted.

We're tired of yippy teacups getting all the glory these days, damnit!

Until that happens, all of you small dog owners should send a letter and photo of your dog to Pericles Dog Casting, Goodman Theatre, 170 N. Dearborn, 60601 or e-mail the info to castinginfo@goodman-theatre.org with "Pericles Dog Casting" in the subject line.
