Jay Ryan: 100 Posters, 134 Squirrels
A couple of things caught our attention yesterday and we thought we’d share them.

First off Ike Reilly will be on NPR’s World Café today. Now this would be easier if Chicago’s WBEZ carried the show, but it doesn’t so we all have to continuously check the Archives in order to see when they have that up to hear the stylings of Libertyville's finest.

And far be it from us to not break news stories and relate what’s happening at the Hideout, but we think this bears mentioning. Tonight at 8 pm for $5, Jay Ryan will be signing his book, 100 Posters, 134 Squirrels and discussing his work. The book features his favorite posters from over the last decade. Ryan has done posters for concerts or albums from such bands as Queens of the Stone Age, Andrew Bird, and Bob Mould. The book contains essays from Steve Albini, Greg Kot and others. Bottomless Pit and PAL will play after readings from Jay Meno and Todd Dills. Jay's book could be the perfect gift for the music snob who has everything and it's too late to get it shipped in time now.

If it’s still too cold out - listen to the radio, if not go out and get some pop culture.
